About Me

Henry Tan

Hi there ,
My name is Henry Tan and I live in Singapore

I was on a full scholarship with one of the big Government Linked Companies in Singapore. After graduation, I started work with the company. For those who do not know, being on a scholarship with the Singapore Government or with one of the Government Linked Companies is akin to having an iron rice bowl.

Indeed things were looking good initially, i was being groomed for Management Positions, as i was on a scholarship. I got paid every month, and my bank account is growing. Yet as time goes, i begin to wonder if this is what i really want? My goal is to retire at the age of 30, and to go on vacations around the world. Life is short, i want to expand my horizons as much as i can when i am young. After all, who doesn’t?

I felt that at this rate i am going, i can never achieve the financial freedom i crave.I know i can never retire at the age of 30 with a salaried job. Hence i made the most important decision of my life. I broke my bond, paid $75,000, and worked as a real estate agent. I felt that a commission based jobs would allows me to achieve the monetary results i want.

Times were hard. I couldn’t borrow the money from my parents because they do not have the money. I had borrowed the $75k from my future parents-in-law, and i have the extra impetus to return the money asap. Afterall, who would want to get married when you have a huge loan. Worse, who would feel comfortable to get married when the loan you took is from your future parents-in-law. Not ME!

I set out to repay $1500 per month, aiming to repay everything in 4 years. With my expenses, i had to make more than $4000 per month to break even. Yet despite the beautiful planning, nothing went according to plan! The real estate market took a downturn shortly after i joined, and i was spending more than i earned! As i begin to see my credit card bills swell from the advertisement cost i incurred, and not being to repay them, i was despondent. I was almost to my last cents. Indeed at one point of time, i had only less than $500 in all my bank accounts. (Yes, you read that right, i have less than $500 in all my three bank accounts)

I almost thought it was the end of the world. Furthermore, there were many people around me, including my family, gossiping and talking behind my back, about me being a bum, for being so stupid to break an “iron rice bowl” and doing real estate. It was difficult for me a 26-year old to manage with all these things happening.

Fortunately, at my lowest point in life, I was to be exposed to Internet Marketing. It literally means marketing on the internet. I was to discover that found that earning an income on the internet was actually quite easy, as long as you put your heart and soul into it.The potential of the internet is infinite, with an outreach to millions and billions of people. Just imagine 0.01% of the world’s population buying a $1 product from you… that would still make you a multi-millionaire!

With this new found belief, i borrowed additional $4000 from my girlfriend to tide me over this period, as i set out my internet marketing career. Yes it is difficult for me. I had my ego, and here i am, a big grown man, not only borrowing money from his girlfriend, but also borrowing money from his girlfriend’s parents! What a loser!

I had to swallow my pride. For me there is only one way forward, the bridges were burned behind me. I can only succeed. I pushed myself every night, sleeping only a few hours, and learning everything i can about the internet marketing. Results were slow, but at the end of 2 shorts month, i was beginning to see results. I was earning $50/week after 2 months! Then i begin to earn $100/week for the 3rd month. I was excited and know that i can succeed if i keep improving and pushing myself.

It is still early to say if i am succeeding in Internet Marketing. Yet i am 100% convinced this is the way to go. I will be sharing my success and failures in another website for you. Hopefully that website can help you avoid the mistakes i made, and to inspire you to achieve your goals.

I had set up this website because along my journey, i had come across many internet marketing products. Some have aided me, some are just plain scams. I wish to educate you, to avoid the mistakes that i made, if you do intend to make a living on the internet.

You can do it if you set your mind to it!

To Your Success!

Henry Tan
